Mainland China AI startup Moonshot AI released its next-generation model Kimi K3 on July 17, with performance in multiple industry benchmark tests said to be close to top models from OpenAI and Anthropic.

Chinese AI stocks also came under pressure, with Zhipu (2513) falling more than 15% and MiniMax (0100) dropping over 10% to a record low, according to Ming Pao.
