Foresight News posted on X (formerly Twitter). BIP-110 supporter @dathon_ohm said mandatory signaling for BIP-110 will begin in about 290 blocks, or roughly 48 hours, at block height 961,632.
Miners will be required to signal readiness for BIP-110, or their blocks will be considered invalid and discarded. The post also advised miners and users to upgrade to Bitcoin Knots nodes and warned against continuing to run Bitcoin Core, saying Core will become unsafe after mandatory signaling begins.
Foresight News noted that BIP-110 is a Bitcoin improvement proposal designed to limit the size and method of arbitrary data embedded in Bitcoin transactions at the consensus level. Its main goal is to reduce the burden of blockchain data on node storage and bandwidth, targeting Ordinals inscriptions, BRC-20 tokens, Runes, large OP_RETURN payloads, and some Taproot constructions used for data storage.
