Strategy NASDAQ:MSTR sold 1,638 bitcoin between July 27 and August 2 at an average of $63,957, raising $104.7 million net of fees. The average purchase price across its holdings is $75,419, putting the sales about 15% below cost. Strategy shares are down 0.88% premarket.
About $52.4 million of the proceeds funded dividends on Strategy's preferred stock and $52.3 million funded repurchases of STRC shares under the Digital Credit Securities Repurchase Program. Strategy separately sold 3,011,361 Class A common shares through its at-the-market program for $290.6 million net, of which $250 million went into the USD Reserve, $28.9 million into further STRC buybacks and $11.7 million to cash.
Holdings stand at 842,138 bitcoin acquired for $63.51 billion. The USD Reserve, which supports preferred dividends and debt interest, held $4.0 billion as of August 2. Strategy held the STRC dividend rate at 12.00% a year and repeated that management will not recommend a change until the stock trades at or near its $100 stated amount. It expects the August and September dividends to be treated as non-taxable returns of capital.
