Japan-listed Quantum Solutions sold another 1,000 ether (ETH) for approximately $1.9 million to help fund its AI data center expansion.

The company has now cut its ether holdings by nearly 30% since mid-June, simultaneously giving up its position as Japan's largest corporate ETH treasury.

GPT Pals Studio, a subsidiary of Quantum Solutions, sold the ether on Thursday at an average price of $1,903, according to a company filing. Quantum said it expects to recognize a loss of around $100,000 on the sale.

The transaction leaves Quantum Solutions with roughly 4,765 ETH, dropping it behind Def consulting, which holds 4,976 ETH, among publicly traded Japanese companies.

Quantum has now sold a total of 1,904 ETH in less than two months, nearly 29% of the 6,668.8 ETH it held before the sales. GPT Pals previously offloaded 904 ETH for approximately $1.6 million on June 16.

The company accumulated most of its ether during the fourth quarter 2025 crypto boom, when ETH was trading between roughly $4,000 and $4,500. Today, ETH is trading for $1,925, leaving the value of Quantum's remaining holdings at approximately $9.2 million.

Quantum said the proceeds are going to be used to support its AI infrastructure and data center business, including data center agreements and GPU equipment.

The company has also expanded the amount of ether authorized for sale from 1,875 ETH to 4,375 ETH. This means that Quantum may sell up to another 2,471 ETH through Oct. 30 following the previous sales of a combined 1,904 ETH.

However, 3,050 of its remaining holdings are pledged to a Singapore-based lender as collateral for an earlier borrowing, while 1,714.8 ETH is held in GPT Pals' crypto trading account. So the remaining sale authorization exceeds the unpledged holdings by over 750 ether.

Quantum would likely need to secure the release or replacement of some of the pledged collateral, or acquire additional ETH, to sell that full authorized amount.
