The Dow Jones Index went up by 96 points or 0.18 percent on Thursday to close at 52444 points.
The rise was led by Cisco Systems (3.77%), American Express (2.94%) and Goldman Sachs (2.51%).
On the downside, the weakerst performers were Salesforce (-2.73%), IBM (-2.41%) and J&J (-1.63%).
