Solana reports that 100M CU blocks are live on mainnet. Through SIMD-0286, the block limit rises from 60M to 100M compute units, adding 66% more block capacity.
The higher limit gives Solana more room to process activity during periods of heavier on-chain demand. By allowing more compute units in each block, the upgrade increases infrastructure headroom for applications and transactions that use the network, supporting SOL's network utility through a concrete protocol-capacity change.
The additional capacity describes what the protocol can accommodate, not demonstrated growth in usage or adoption. Its practical effect will depend on how network activity uses the available block space.
