Industrial production in Estonia fell 3.0% year-on-year in May 2026, marking a fourth consecutive month of contraction in industrial activity, though the pace eased from 3.8% decline in the previous month.
Output in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply remained a major drag (-22.9% vs. -14.9% in April).
Manufacturing output also weakened further (-3.5% vs. -3.2%), weighed down by repair and installation of machinery and equipment (-40.5%), coke and refined petroleum products (-38.7%), computers and peripheral equipment (-75.0%), and grain mill products, starches and starch products (-13.9%).
In contrast, mining and quarrying surged 39.9%, accelerating from 15.7% in April.
On a monthly basis, industrial activity slipped by 0.2%, reversing an upwardly revised 1.3% increase in the previous month.
