A fire broke out in a disused oil tank at Impala Terminals Group's Milford Haven site in Pembrokeshire, United Kingdom, which was subsequently extinguished, the company said.
Local media had reported huge plumes of black smoke emanating from near the site on Monday evening with fire crews rushing to the scene.
A company spokesperson said in a written response to Reuters that all employees and contractors at the site had been accounted for, and the fire had not resulted in any casualties, while operations at the site had returned to normal.
The Impala Terminals facility in Milford Haven (formerly known as Puma Energy Terminal) is a major hydrocarbon storage hub.
Impala Terminals Group is a 50-50 joint venture between Australian pension fund management group IFM Investors and leading supplier of commodities Trafigura (TRAFGF.UL).
