Hong Kong's securities regulator said on Tuesday the city will build a new electronic platform to improve efficiency in bond and foreign exchange trading in the Asian financial hub.

Julia Leung, Chief Executive Officer of the Securities and Futures Commission, said the platform will be developed jointly by the Hong Kong bourse and the China Foreign Exchange Trade System (CFETS).
