According to Yonhap, Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Corp. sold 131,032 electric vehicles in Europe in the first half of 2026, up 41.8% from 92,365 in the previous half, as the South Korean automakers stepped up their push to expand in the region. Kia's EV3 compact sport utility vehicle led sales with 27,121 units, followed by Hyundai's Inster subcompact SUV with 16,594 and Kia's EV4 sedan with 14,502. The companies said they expect annual EV sales in Europe to top 200,000 units for the first time since they entered the market in 2014 if the current pace continues through year-end. Hyundai and Kia first exceeded 100,000 annual EV sales in Europe in 2021, with combined sales rising to 183,912 units in 2025. Their cumulative EV sales in Europe passed 1 million through May, and they currently offer 14 EV models in the region.
