Mind Gym plc, the behavioural science company, announces that Octavius Black CBE will step down from his role as Executive Chair and from the Board due to ill health, with effect from Monday 3rd August.
Octavius co-founded MindGym in 2000 with Dr Sebastian Bailey and has led the Company throughout its twenty-six-year history, including its admission to AIM in 2018. Under his leadership MindGym has grown into an international behavioural science business that has worked with the majority of the FTSE 100 and S&P 100 and changed the way millions of professionals think, feel and behave at work.
Octavius remains one of the Company's largest shareholders and has confirmed to the Board his continuing commitment to the Company as a long-term shareholder.
Board arrangements
David Nelson will chair the Board on an interim basis and the Board will conduct a process to appoint a new Chair in due course. David has served on MindGym's board since before our IPO and is a Chartered Accountant, in practice, with a number of other non-executive director roles. The Company's executive leadership is unchanged: Christoffer Ellehuus continues as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), supported by the senior management team.

Twenty-six years on, that mission is being carried forward by an excellent team. Reluctantly, I have had to accept medical advice to give up my role, but I do so knowing the Company is in very capable hands, and they have my full support."
