Palladyne AI has executed a previously disclosed $4.2 million contract with the U.S. Air Force's research lab to advance swarming capabilities for autonomous systems.
The defense and industrial technology company said the contract will see its SwarmOS software platform used as a baseline technology to bridge the gap between drones, ships and satellites that operate largely independently.
"We're helping the warfighter make better decisions in real time and stay one step ahead on the battlefield," Chief Executive Ben Wolff said.
Shares rose 5.6% to $6.03 in premarket trading.
