Indian engineering and construction giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said on Wednesday that its energy hydrocarbon onshore business has secured a “major” engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) order from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) for Jurassic Light Oil (JLO) export facilities and upgradation of the existing export network.
The scope encompasses EPC of six new crude oil storage tanks, each with an operating capacity of 618,000 barrels, and associated facilities, on a lump sum turnkey (LSTK) basis, L&T said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The project also involves the installation of new pipelines and comprehensive upgrades to Kuwait’s existing crude loading and export network to seamlessly accommodate increased production and enhance the country’s crude handling capabilities.
The exact value of the contracts was not given, but L&T puts the value of “major” orders between INR 5000-10,000 crores ($522.35 million to $1.04 billion).
In June 2026, a Zawya Projects report said Kuwait’s Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) approved the award of a contract worth 303.5 million Kuwaiti dinars ($992 million) to L&T for the construction of export crude storage facilities and upgrading existing oil export infrastructure.
