STOCKHOLM--Autoliv and Great Wall Motor agreed on a new framework deal that builds on a previous collaboration established in 2023 to support the Chinese automaker's international expansion.

The Swedish maker of airbags and safety belts said Monday the two companies will expand cooperation across global business growth in areas such as supply chains, localized operations, integrated safety systems and sustainable growth.

"By combining GWM's international growth ambitions with Autoliv's global capabilities in automotive safety, we are strengthening the foundation for an even more integrated and resilient partnership," said Autoliv Chief Executive Mikael Bratt.

Under their previously announced collaboration, the two companies agreed to work together on developing new safety technologies, which Autoliv said at the time would help strengthen its position with Chinese manufacturers.
