Salesforce NYSE:CRM rose 1.48% intraday after announcing that US Department of Veterans Affairs awarded it a $1.6 billion, three-year agreement to modernize care and service delivery through its Missionforce government unit. The deal covers AI agents for round-the-clock contact center support, patient triage and care coordination, alongside data integration through MuleSoft and Data 360 and analytics via Tableau.

The VA serves more than 17 million veterans across 170 medical centers and over 1,100 outpatient clinics, handling more than 82 million direct-care appointments in 2025. Slack is already deployed across more than 150 VA sites. The target is to cut average appointment scheduling time from 28 days to minutes once fully deployed, supporting an initiative covering more than 40,000 provider services.

The award extends a run of federal wins for Missionforce, which previously secured a $5.6 billion Army contract and a $72 million Air Force agreement.
