Perth Mint's gold product sales hit a two-month high in June, up 53% from May, while silver sales declined 19% from May, the refiner said on Tuesday.
Sales of gold coins and minted bars last month rose 53% from May to 29,730 ounces, and were up 5% on a year-on-year basis.
Monthly sales in May had dropped to their lowest since January 2025.
Silver sales fell to 293,732 ounces last month, down 19% from the 363,976 ounces in May, and were down about 37% on a year-on-year basis.
"While market conditions became more subdued in the second half of the (2025/2026 financial) year as investors shifted towards higher-risk assets, the broader picture remains very positive," said John O'Donoghue, general manager-institutions and business solutions, Perth Mint.
"Gold still finished the financial year more than 20% higher in U.S. dollar terms, reinforcing its enduring role as a long-term store of value through changing market cycles."
Spot gold prices TVC:GOLD fell about 12% in June as the U.S. Federal Reserve seemed intent on keeping interest rates higher for longer, dampening bullion's appeal as a non-yielding asset.
Owned by the government of Western Australia, the Perth Mint is the world's leading producer of newly mined gold and Australia's largest refiner by volume, according to its website.
The following table details the Perth Mint's monthly sales, including coins and minted bars:
