Shares of United Microelectronics rose after the company reported a jump in June sales.

Shares were up 7.8% to $26.49 as of midday Monday. The stock has more than tripled in value since the start of the year.

The semiconductor company on Monday reported June sales growing 23% to 23.12 billion New Taiwan Dollars ($722.1 million).

For the period between January and June, sales rose 11% to NT$129.77 billion, the company said.
