Collins Foods' share price falls 1.7% to A$8.22 following its FY26 earnings, keeping the stock close to one-year lows. That's despite the result slightly beating RBC's forecasts, with sales in the first eight weeks of FY27 also positively surprising. Collins Foods said same-store sales at KFC outlets in Australia are up 4.0%. That's tracking ahead of RBC's forecast of 2.8% in 1H. "Europe delivered a strong FY26 result, but the first 8 weeks are soft with same-store sales down 7.2% and 7.8% for Germany and Netherlands respectively," RBC says. This likely reflects the recent heatwave, impact of the Iran conflict, and strong sales a year ago with the Squid Game promotion. The Germany weakness is likely "temporary and not reflective of the underlying trading momentum of the business," RBC says. (david.winning@wsj.com; @dwinningWSJ)
