Australia's Pure Battery Technologies is considering plans for a $350 million facility to produce precursor cathode active material (pCAM) in Indonesia, Indonesia's investment ministry said on Thursday.

PCAM is a key component in the lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles.

The project is expected to be a concrete step in strengthening the supply chain for Indonesia's electric vehicle industry, the ministry said.
