The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals were reported by 1330 GMT on Monday:
** Rocket Lab <RKLB.O> struck an $8 billion deal to acquire satellite communications provider Iridium Communications <IRDM.O>, betting that owning everything from rockets to satellite networks will define the next generation of space companies.
** Matador Resources <MTDR.N> said its midstream joint venture San Mateo Midstream will acquire the operating units of Cardinal Midstream Partners for $752 million in cash, expanding its natural gas gathering and processing footprint in the Delaware Basin.
** Private equity group CVC Capital Partners <CVC.AS> has agreed to acquire Italian industrial automation company Clevertech from the Reggiani family, it said.
** CVC also entered into an agreement to acquire Italian dessert ingredients maker Irca from Advent International.
** Martin Marietta Materials <MLM.N> said it would merge with limestone supplier Lhoist North America in a cash-and-stock deal worth $13.5 billion, as the building material firm looks to tap growing demand for lime products.
** Zymeworks <ZYME.O> said it will acquire Theravance Biopharma <TBPH.O> for $929 million in cash, marking the oncology-focused drugmaker's entry into the highly competitive respiratory disease segment.
** Turkish construction firm Libco Insaat has signed a deal to buy a 32% stake in Turkish conglomerate Tekfen Holding BIST:TKFEN, less than a month after Turkey's military pension fund Oyak began talks to buy a separate stake.
** British private equity group Bridgepoint LSE:BPT has agreed to buy U.S.-based Kayne Anderson's real estate business in a deal valued at about $1.4 billion, it said, driving its shares up more than 10%.
** Ipsen EURONEXT:IPN will buy U.S.-based Kartos Therapeutics for $450 million to expand its oncology pipeline with a late-stage blood cancer treatment, the French biotech company said.
** Swedish care provider Ambea OMXSTO:AMBEA said it had made a recommended public offer for peer Humana OMXSTO:HUM, valuing the company at about 2.96 billion Swedish crowns ($304.13 million).
** U.S. pipeline operator Williams NYSE:WMB is in advanced talks to acquire rival natural gas pipeline operator Momentum Midstream for about $5.5 billion, Bloomberg News reported on Sunday, citing people familiar with the matter.
** Finnish energy company Fortum OMXHEX:FORTUM has agreed terms for a recommended, conditional voluntary cash tender offer to buy all shares in Norway's Elmera Group OSL:ELMRA, worth about NOK 5.1 billion ($513.55 million), topping a rival approach disclosed last week.
** Investment vehicles managed by Sixth Street have agreed to acquire a majority stake in Monument Re, a Bermuda-based reinsurer and consolidator of European life insurance portfolios.
