EUROPE BEFORE THE BELL: FUTURES JUMP

European equity futures are up on Friday as a week of record highs for markets across the continent draws to an end.

Euro STOXX 50 futures EUREX:FESX1! are up around 0.5% and DAX futures BMFBOVESPA:DAX1! are 0.7% higher. Futures on the CAC (FCEc1) and FTSE XFFIc1> are up 0.4% and 0.2% respectively.

So far this week, the cross-regional STOXX 600 TVC:SXXP has hit multiple fresh record highs, with another one potentially on the cards Friday. It is on track to gain nearly 2% across the week. The DAX XETR:DAX also hit an all-time high on Thursday.

Stocks got a boost on Thursday after a lukewarm U.S. jobs report calmed jitters about a Federal Reserve interest rate hike being imminent.

Back in Europe, Swiss Bank Julius Baer SIX:BAER on Friday announced the appointment of Peter Burrill as chief financial officer and a member of its executive board, effective August 17 and subject to final regulatory approval.
