Weekly sales of U.S. soybean exports fell below what was anticipated by analysts, with old-crop sales posting a marketing-year low.
In its weekly export sales report published Thursday, the Department of Agriculture said that soybean export sales for the week ended June 25 totaled 224,300 metric tons - including just 41,800 tons sold in 2025/26. The total is well below the range of 500,000 tons and 1.5 million tons forecast by analysts surveyed by The Wall Street Journal this week.
Corn sales totaled 1.5 million tons across both marketing years, falling within analyst estimates for the week. Wheat sales were 300,100 tons for the 2026/27 marketing year, on the low side of analyst forecasts for the week.
CBOT grain futures are higher in pre-market trading Thursday. Most-active corn futures are up 0.2%, soybeans rise 0.5%, and wheat is up 0.4%.
