Profits at China's industrial firms rose 18.8% in the first five months of 2026 compared with the corresponding period last year, official data showed on Saturday.

The profit rise accelerated from an 18.2% increase in the January-April period, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics.

Industrial profit figures cover firms with annual revenues of at least 20 million yuan ($2.95 million) from their main operations.
