According to Maple's Q2 2026 Ecosystem Update, MIP-021, a rules-based buyback that scales with revenue, goes live on July 13 for Maple Finance.
The change puts an approved tokenomics rule into operation rather than leaving it as a proposal. By linking buybacks to protocol revenue, the mechanism creates ongoing token demand when revenue is generated, which is different from a one-time treasury action or discretionary repurchase.
Its effect depends on how much revenue Maple Finance produces after launch. That means the framework is now available and active, but the size of any buyback flow is still variable rather than fixed in advance.
