Spot basis bids for corn and soybeans in the U.S. Midwest were mixed in the U.S. Midwest on Tuesday as grain handlers were rolling their basis bids forward ahead of the expiration of the Chicago Board of Trade July contracts.

  • U.S. farmers planted 3% fewer corn acres this spring than a year earlier, but the acreage is still the fourth largest in 82 years, government data showed on Tuesday, after growers scrambled to capitalize on rising grain prices and favorable growing weather.

  • U.S. farmers planted 95.343 million acres of corn in 2026, down from 98.788 million last year, and 85.365 million acres of soybeans, up from 81.215 million in 2025, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in a report.

  • CBOT July corn (CN26) was last 9 cents higher to $4.11 per bushel.

  • CBOT November soybeans (SX26) were 6 cents higher to $11.45 per bushel.
