Spot basis bids for corn and soybeans were flat to higher in the U.S. Midwest on Wednesday as some farmers took advantage of a rally in corn and soybean futures to sell off some of their old crop.
Chicago corn, soybean and wheat futures rose on Wednesday, extending a rebound triggered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Tuesday acreage and stocks estimates.
The USDA reported that U.S. farmers planted 3% fewer corn acres this spring than a year earlier, but the acreage is still the fourth largest in 82 years, after growers scrambled to capitalize on rising grain prices and favorable growing weather.
U.S. farmers planted 95.343 million acres of corn in 2026, down from 98.788 million last year, and 85.365 million acres of soybeans, up from 81.215 million in 2025, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in a report.
CBOT July corn (CN26) was last 7 cents higher to $4.19-3/4 per bushel.
CBOT November soybeans (SX26) were 7 cents higher to $11.50-3/4 per bushel.
