Sri Lankan shares edged lower on Wednesday as losses in communication services and real estate stocks outweighed gains in IT and healthcare.
The CSE All Share index CSELK:ASI settled down 0.09% at 22,243.70, falling for the second straight day.
Paragon Ceylon PLC CSELK:PARA.N0000 and ACME Printing CSELK:ACME.N0000 were the top percentage losers on the CSE All Share index, falling 2.2% and 2%, respectively.
Trading volume on the CSE All Share index fell to 35.2 million shares from 60 million in the previous session, according to exchange data.
The equity market's turnover fell to 1.07 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($3.18 million) from 1.76 billion rupees in the previous session.
Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 350.5 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 1.01 billion rupees.
