Czech manufacturing activity expanded at the fastest rate in more than four years in June as output rose, the S&P Global Purchasing Managers' Index showed on Wednesday.

  • The headline PMI climbed to 53.9 in June from 52.2 in May, the highest reading since April 2022 and comfortably above the 50 mark that divides expansion from contraction.

  • Analysts polled by Reuters had forecast a reading of 51.8.

  • The survey showed that new orders were at their highest since February 2022, and employment edged into positive territory for the first time since December.
