Gains in grains following the USDA's yearly Acreage and quarterly Grain Stocks reports are paring back. Soybeans are now negative for the day, while corn remains up 0.4% and wheat is 1% higher. "The market had an initial friendly reaction, but favorable growing weather has limited speculative buying post-report," says the Hightower Report in a note following release of the reports. Expectations for strong yields from acres planted in the spring are weighing on all three row crops. In the case of soybeans, higher acreage becomes a limiter of prices if Chinese export demand doesn't return strongly. (kirk.maltais@wsj.com)
