Around 79% of tech entrepreneurs say European regulations had a significant impact on their businesses in the past year, according to a survey of 155 founders published by start-up advisor DutchBasecamp in partnership with a tech lobby association. "When 45% of those surveyed have paused or cancelled features, 58% have delayed entering another EU market, and 44% have lost or delayed deals in a single year, the urgent need for regulatory simplification is no longer a theoretical debate about EU competitiveness," Masha Moisseyeva, managing director of DutchBasecamp, says. The research is published in partnership with tech lobby group CCIA, which counts Google and Apple as members. The report comes as the EU is working toward simplifying its knot of tech rules for companies. (edith.hancock@wsj.com)
