Foreign tourist arrivals to Indonesia increased by 5.83% year-on-year to 1.38 million in April 2026, slowing from a 7.22% rise in the previous month as lingering global economic uncertainties and weaker travel demand from Europe tempered the pace of growth.
Most visitors originated from Malaysia (25.04%), China (9.38%), Singapore (8.19%), Japan (19.0%), the Middle East (5.67%), Australia (5.0%), the U.S. (1.68%), and Japan (1.90%).
In contrast, arrivals fell from India (-6.85%), and South Korea (-9.04%).
Those from Europe declined 5.91%, with notable drops from the UK (-5.94%), France (-7.06%), and Germany (-4.17%).
During the first five months of the year, foreign tourist arrivals rose 7.68% year-on-year to 6.07 million, the highest level for the January–May period since 2020.
