The annual inflation rate in Uganda accelerated to 3.7% in June 2026 from 3.2% in the prior month, marking the highest level since September 2025.
Upward pressure came from several categories, particularly transportation (8.8% vs 6.7% in May); food & non-alcoholic beverages (2.6% vs 1.8%); education (5.7% vs 4.1%); housing & utilities (4.9% vs 4.5%) and insurance and financial services (12.6% vs 12.6%).
On a monthly basis, the CPI rose by 0.6%, after a 0.7% increase in the month before.
