Orders from U.S. factories fell 1.3% in May to $657.4 billion from $665.9 billion in April. The decline matched what economists polled by The Wall Street Journal expected.
The report showed that shipments from factories rose by 1.6% in May after a 1.3% increase in April. Unfilled orders increased by 0.6%, and were up 22 of the last 23 months, the report said.
