The European Investment Bank (EIB), the lending arm of the European Union, has loaned Morocco €350 million ($398 million) to support the country's railways and highways, Morocco's finance ministry said.
The bank will provide €300 million to strengthen the resilience and security of Morocco's motorway network, and €50 million to support the country's expanding railway sector, the ministry said in a statement.
Morocco's railway sector has also benefited from a €15 million grant from the European Union, it said.
