The U.K.'s antitrust regulator said it launched an investigation into whether France's Dassault Systemes and other design and engineering software providers breached competition regulations.

The Competition and Markets Authority said Thursday that it was looking into the supply of Solidworks computer-aided design and computer-aided engineering software.

Solid Solutions Management and Visiativ Solutions are also under investigation, the CMA said.

The probe was launched Tuesday. The CMA hasn't yet concluded if there is sufficient evidence of competition regulation infringements, it said.

Dassault Systemes said in a statement that it was cooperating fully with the CMA and that it remains committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations.

Solid Solutions Management and Visiativ Solutions didn't respond to requests for comment.
