Societe Generale EURONEXT:GLE has appointed Pei Shen Chou as head of mergers and acquisitions for Asia-Pacific, effective immediately, as part of the French firm's effort to strengthen its global investment banking business, according to a statement on Monday.

Chou will be based in Hong Kong and report to Stephanie Clement de Givry, head of global banking and advisory for Asia-Pacific, as well as global M&A co-heads Patrick Perreault and Juan Manuel Ramirez.
Chou will lead the bank's M&A business across the Asia-Pacific region and advise clients on cross-border deals.
Chou has more than 25 years of investment banking experience. He most recently led advisory for Asia-Pacific excluding Japan at Nomura. He previously held senior M&A roles at UBS and Deutsche Bank.
