CAUTIOUS START TO THE QUARTER

After hitting its latest record high on Tuesday, Europe's STOXX 600 TVC:SXXP nudged lower on Wednesday as worries over the prospect of lasting peace between the U.S. and Iran and questions about the interest rate outlook kept investors on edge.

Traders will therefore closely follow remarks from policymakers including Fed Chair Kevin Warsh, and preliminary June euro zone inflation data later in the day.

But for now, it's looking like a hesitant start to the new quarter. The STOXX 600 TVC:SXXP is down 0.14%, while the DAX XETR:DAX is 0.25% higher and the FTSE CURRENCYCOM:UK100 is flat. The CAC EURONEXT:PX1 is down 0.37%.

Aerospace and defence stocks (.SXPARO) are leading gains, up 1.9%, while media stocks (.SXMP) are down 1.5%.

In the UK, ASOS LSE:ASC shares are 9% higher. The company on Wednesday announced the disposal of its Atlanta fulfilment centre.
