RECORDS ON REPEAT FOR THE STOXX
Europe's STOXX 600 hit yet another record high early in Friday's session - after notching several of those earlier in the week. It is now hovering around those record levels, up 0.26% on the day, and on track for its biggest weekly rise since mid-May.
Utilities (.SX6P) are leading gains, up 1.6%. Personal and household goods stocks (.SXQP) are meanwhile down around 1%.
Between the ECB's Sintra conference and a series of economic data points including inflation figures, traders have been keeping an eye on the macro backdrop for much of the week.
The latest piece of that puzzle are Friday's PMI surveys. The data showed that the euro zone services industry contracted at a slower pace in June as cost pressures fell at the sharpest rate on record outside of pandemic-era lockdowns.
The DAX XETR:DAX is up 0.5%, while the CAC EURONEXT:PX1 and FTSE CURRENCYCOM:UK100 are virtually flat.
