Malaysia's equity market could see near-term volatility, as coming state elections could weigh on sentiment, FSMOne's research assistant manager Alwyn Chew Chuan Shyn says in an event. He prefers companies with strong earnings visibility, such as renewable energy and data center related construction players, consumer stocks that could benefit from the government's cash aid program as well as banks, which are expected to see stable net interest margins. Chew expects the Malaysia's benchmark Kuala Lumpur Composite Index to end the year at 1700. The KLCI is 0.3% higher at 1662.34. (yingxian.wong@wsj.com)
