The deadline creates a direct economic cutoff for affected HNT holders. Keeping a position delegated allows it to continue earning rewards, while missing expiry permanently removes rewards for each day it remains expired. Renewal is therefore an operational requirement for continued reward accrual rather than a change to rewards already earned.
The consequence applies only to delegated veHNT positions, and rewards earned before expiry remain claimable. Positions that are not delegated are not affected by this specific expiry condition.
