Germany and Canada have signed a joint declaration of intent to strengthen cooperation in the semiconductor sector, the German economy ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

"With this declaration, Germany and Canada reaffirm their shared commitment to expanding cooperation for a high-performing and more resilient semiconductor ecosystem and to intensifying bilateral economic relations," it said.
