Hungary's seasonally-adjusted Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) rose to 51.5 in June (HUPMI=ECI) from 50.2 in May, the index publisher said on Wednesday.

The June figure fell short of a long-term monthly average of 52.5 but was higher than an average 50.0 June reading in the past three years, the Association of Logistics, Purchasing and Inventory Management said.

"Survey respondents in June reported a faster expansion of the manufacturing industry compared with the previous month," the index publisher said in a statement.

The index of new orders rose and showed expansion. The production volume index was also higher.

The 50-point mark separates contraction from growth.

The index for purchase prices was lower and continued to show a marked rise in prices, the publisher said.

The employment index was lower and showed contraction, while the export and import indicators both showed expansion.
