India's cabinet has approved an additional investment commitment of 300 billion rupees ($3.17 billion) into the state-backed sovereign wealth fund, the government said on Monday.
The investment will raise the federal government's commitment to the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) to 600 billion rupees, it said in a statement.
