Hexagate detected an attack on the LpdFi protocol yesterday that caused losses of about $700,000. According to Odaily, the attacker borrowed about $44 million through a flash loan, pushed the LPD token price up 71 times on a DEX, and used tokens worth about $2 million to fake roughly $140 million in deposits in the protocol.
One second later, after crossing the protocol's daily interest settlement boundary, the attacker collected a full day of interest on the inflated position. The protocol then liquidated all of its liquidity pools and paid out the stolen funds. After repaying all loans, the attacker made about $700,000 and quickly moved the money through Relay and Tornado Cash.
