Oil falls in early Asian trade on possible position adjustments. U.S. President Trump said on social media Monday that Iran had requested a meeting and that the meeting would take place in Doha on Tuesday. However, oil-price losses may be limited by lingering worries over sustainability of oil transported through the Strait of Hormuz. There are "reports that Iran is moving forward with plans to control maritime traffic through the strait, even without Oman," ANZ Research analysts say in a research report. "This is likely to delay the recovery of oil output from the Persian Gulf," the analysts add. Front-month WTI crude oil futures are 0.8% lower at $70.19 per barrel. (ronnie.harui@wsj.com)
