Nvidia NASDAQ:NVDA has formed a long-term partnership with Safe Superintelligence, the AI laboratory founded by former OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever, while also making a substantial new investment in the company.
Under the agreement, Nvidia will provide Safe Superintelligence with access to its Vera Rubin GPU platform, increasing the lab's available computing power by roughly an order of magnitude. The two companies will also work together on Nvidia's current and future AI systems, with Safe Superintelligence contributing research insights.
Safe Superintelligence was launched to develop advanced AI with safety at the centre of its mission. The company raised $2 billion in April 2025 at a reported $32 billion valuation, despite still being focused primarily on research rather than commercial products.
The deal resembles Nvidia's broader strategy of investing in leading AI laboratories while also supplying the computing infrastructure they need. AMD NASDAQ:AMD recently struck a similar arrangement with Anthropic.
