Datadog said it acquired Adaptive ML, a frontier artificial intelligence startup developing a platform that helps companies develop their own specialized agents and models.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Adaptive, which is developing what Datadog bills as the first reinforcement learning operations platform, will join Datadog AI Research to accelerate AI investment and research efforts.

Adaptive Chief Executive Julien Launay said joining Datadog, a cloud-based analytics and monitoring platform, would allow Adaptive to scale its production.

Datadog said it has invested more than $1 billion in research and development as AI intensifies the complexity of software systems. Recent efforts include research initiatives such as Toto 2.0 and the production of AI agents such as Bits Investigation, Bits Code and Bits Security Analysts.
