Lens Technology said on July 25 that its wholly owned subsidiary Lens International (Hong Kong) signed a memorandum of understanding with Intel to focus on TGV, or through-glass-via, advanced packaging. According to Jiemian News, the two sides will discuss and evaluate potential cooperation in glass substrate drilling and forming, high-precision laser processing, metallized via deposition and multilayer interconnect routing. Intel will provide reference architecture information, DFM guidance, benchmarking methods and validation methods, while Lens Technology said it has long-standing technical accumulation in precision glass processing and related pilot production work.

The company said the signing could help it build a long-term strategic partnership with Intel and speed up the large-scale application of related new technologies. Jiemian News reported that Lens Technology is also planning a 30,000-square-meter dedicated TGV glass substrate factory and supporting production lines, with production expected to begin by the end of 2026. The company said the business has not yet had a material impact on its results. In the first quarter of 2026, Lens Technology posted revenue of 14.14 billion yuan, down 17.13% from a year earlier, and a net loss attributable to shareholders of 150 million yuan. Citi downgraded its A-share rating to neutral.
