Coca-Cola is becoming Marriott International's official beverage partner, ousting PepsiCo as the hotel chain's longstanding drink of choice.

Marriott guests will start seeing Coca-Cola's brands across guestrooms, restaurants, lounges and events via a phased rollout starting Wednesday and continuing over the next several months.

Pepsi has been Marriott's drink provider since 1992. Pepsi and Marriott had renewed their agreement as recently as 2018, but the hotel chain is now looking for something that resonates more with the members of its loyalty program, which is one of the largest of its kind in the world.

"We are focused on delivering the products our guests and Marriott Bonvoy Members know and love, better meeting guest preferences, and creating economic benefits for owners and franchise operators across our system," said Anthony Capuano, president and chief executive of Marriott.
