Netflix NASDAQ:NFLX is considering live TV and streaming bundles as it looks for new ways to keep viewers watching, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The concern is not subscriber losses. Netflix still has some of the lowest cancellation rates in streaming and continues to post stronger profits. The issue is that viewer engagement has started to soften, even with major hits such as Bridgerton and Stranger Things drawing large audiences.

Netflix runs the world's largest subscription streaming platform, offering films, series, documentaries, games and a growing lineup of live events. Its massive global audience has helped turn the business into one of the industry's most profitable platforms.

Executives reportedly discussed the engagement slowdown during the company's annual business review this spring, and the topic has kept coming up in internal meetings.
